Train the Trainer - Teacher Training

Award in Education and Training Level 3 (formally PTLLS)

 The course provides an introduction to teaching and training adults. It allows learners to learn knowledge and skills required to enter teaching. 


The Award is suitable for those who work, or want to work as: 

➡️ Teachers

➡️ Trainers

➡️ Tutors in the lifelong learning sector and adult/community education

➡️ Trainers of personnel in commerce, industry, public and voluntary sectors

Certificate in Education and Training Level 4 (formally CTLLS)

This Certificate, which is also a 6 week course, is suitable for those teaching, training or tutoring and who have at least 30 hours of teaching over the duration of the programme.

Diploma in Education and Training Level 5 (formally DTLLS)

This qualification will prepare you for a successful career as a teacher in your chosen subject within further education. These qualifications have been developed for those working, or looking to work, in a teaching role in the Further Education (FE) sector in England. The comprises of face-to-face training days, optional assignment workshops, 1:1 tutorial, workplace assessment, individual research, distance learning and the completion of 4 assignments.

Assessor Award

City and Guilds TAQA is a modular award (Levels 3 and 4) and replaces the C&G A1 and A2 Assessor awards and the V1 Internal Verifier award. The new TAQA qualification is for people working in or looking to work as Assessors or Internal Verifiers. 

These qualifications are designed to support the assessment and quality assurance of all new QCF qualifications. These include apprenticeships, NVQs, functional skills, certificate, diplomas, awards and apprenticeships. 


The TAQA qualification range is delivered on a one-to-one basis in your workplace. You can complete your TAQA Award using a traditional paper-based portfolio or an e-portfolio. Assessment is by means of a portfolio of evidence which you have gathered; written answers to questions, observations of a candidate in the workplace.

The Pre-Employment Training Programme is an initial 12-week training scheme for 18–24-year-olds who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET). At the end of the 12-week course our team will continue to work with young people to help them to find employment, placements and apprenticeship opportunities. 


The Pre-Employment Training Programme offers:

A 6-week programme of sessions covering the following topics which is important for a healthy brain:

This programme is funded by the National Lottery Awards for All and Birmingham City Council - Neighbourhood Development & Support Unit.

Digital Skills

Photography Workshops

6-week photographic workshops aimed at beginners:


  • How cameras work - Learn how your camera works so you can make sure it gives you the best possible results. 
  • Exposure - Learn all about exposure – what it is, how it works, and how to make sure you achieve the perfect exposure in your images. 
  • Shutter Speed -  Master shutter speed to take your photography skills to the next level. 
  • Aperture -  Aperture controls how much light enters your camera. It also controls the depth of field – a crucial aspect of any image. 
  • Lighting -  Develop an understanding of how light works, and how to make it work for you.
  • Composition -  Discover how to compose your shots like a pro.
